In almost every fit-check, the shoe gets its own frame. There's a reason.
Sneakers are the fastest way to signal a style without saying a word — trail runners read gorpcore, low-tops read clean, chunky reads Y2K. Because they're at the bottom of the frame, the eye lands on them last and they set the 'ending' of the fit. A great fit with the wrong shoe reads confused; a plain fit with the right shoe reads intentional. When you plan a fit, plan the shoe first.
